With an MD in Pathology from Trivandrum and a Diplomate of National Board in Pathology, she has built an exceptional career at SCTIMST and beyond. Her pioneering work in Patient Blood Management, donor motivation, and platelet-rich therapies has earned her national and international accolades, including the prestigious AABB President’s Award and the Prof. J.G. Jolly Award. A recipient of multiple honors such as the SCTIMST Certificate of Excellence and KEBS Rudhira Award, she has consistently advanced the frontiers of safe and ethical transfusion practices. Beyond her research and teaching, Dr. Amita has been a passionate advocate for voluntary blood donation, especially during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
